Nur Nazatul Hashima binti Jaafar (MSc Student)

Nur Nazatul Hashima Binti Jaafar is a Master’s student and research assistant at the Faculty of Tropical Forestry, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, where she is actively engaged in research on forest ecology and conservation. With a strong academic foundation in tropical forestry, she has developed a particular interest in the role of riparian ecosystems in climate change mitigation and sustainable land management. Her current project, Effect of Ecological Restoration on Aboveground Carbon Stock in Riparian Forests and Oil Palm Landscapes of Sapong Estate’s Forest, Sabah, Malaysia, focuses on quantifying the carbon storage potential of riparian forests to provide valuable insights for biodiversity conservation, carbon management, and policy development. Through her research, she aims to contribute to the scientific understanding and practical applications of forest carbon assessment, supporting both environmental sustainability and the global effort to combat climate change.
