Hi! My name is Emmeldah Joseph. I am a Research Assistant and full-time student at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, pursuing my Master’s Degree in Science (Forestry) under the supervision of Dr. Elia Godoong.
Currently, I am engaged in an ongoing Master’s thesis project, focusing on the pattern and distribution of wild ginger, specifically Etlingera coccinea, in the DaMaI Conservation Areas in Sabah, Malaysia. Through this research, I aim to contribute to the understanding of the ecological dynamics and conservation strategies associated with this unique species.
I have also authored a journal article titled “A Review of Etlingera coccinea (Blume) S. Sakai and Nagam (Zingiberaceae) on Achievement of Producing An Essential Oil and Medicinal Properties in Sabah, East Malaysia.” This article, published in the Journal of Tropical Biology and Conservation, critically examines the achievements and potential medicinal properties of Etlingera coccinea. I hope to inspire and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society.
